Memphis BB blasts State in Starkville in Preseason Matchup
Memphis men's basketball team defeated Mississippi State 75-58 in an exhibition game at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Mississippi. The Tigers led 39-35 at halftime and never dropped below 14 points the rest of the way. Senior Jayden Reid, a Preseason All-Conference First-Team selection, scored a game-high 26 points and was one of four Tigers to score in double-figures. Mississippi State's Tajuan Simpkins scored 11 points. The game was the first of two exhibition games for Memphis, with the Tigers set to face No. 14 Arkansas at 7 p.m.
