Four Kia and Hyundai dealerships more than double Lithia's Memphis presence
Gossett Motor Cars will focus on its remaining eight dealerships; Kerrigan says this is its 32nd franchise sale in the South in four months. Kerrigan Advisors represented Gossett Motor Cars (Gossett), the largest privately owned dealership group in the country, in the sale of four Kia and Hyundai dealerships in Memphis, Tennessee to Lithia Motors (NYSE: LAD). The transaction brings Kerrigan Advisers to 32 franchises sold in the South over the last four months, marking Kerrigan's 474th franchise sold since its founding in 2014 and its 156th franchise in the region, leading the industry in that region. The acquisition more than doubles Lithia's presence in Memphis and allows Kerrigan to focus on its remaining eight dealerships. This transaction includes two of the three Kia points and two of four Hyundai points in the Memphis MSA, creating a significant market presence. The buyer, Lithia Automobile Companies, is ranked #123 on the 2026 Fortune 500 list.
