Buc-ee’s says Mid-South locations won’t open until mid-2027, 2028
Popular gas station & convenience store chain Buc-ee's has delayed the openings of their Fayette County and West Memphis, Arkansas locations to 2027 and 2028. Buc-ee's gas station chain has announced that its first Memphis-area store will open in May 2027, with a location off I-40 in Fayette County, northeast of Memphis set to open in June 2028. The West Memphis location will require a widening street and a ramp for traffic control. The delay is attributed to the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) widening a street and construction delays. The company has two Tennessee locations, one in Cookville and another in Sevierville. The city of West Memphis approved a $5 million incentive package, including providing the land at a cost of $3.5 million, plus $1.9 million for infrastructure improvements.
