‘Stopping predatory gambling’: TN cracking down on online sweepstakes casinos
The AG reports that multiple of these casinos have begun shutting down in Tennessee. The Tennessee Attorney General (AG) Jonathan Skrmetti is cracking down on illegal online sweepstakes casinos in the state. The casinos, which allow participants to play traditional casino-style games with two virtual currencies, are often used as a cover for real-world gambling. The AG has sent formal cease-and-denial letters to nearly 40 illegal online casinos in Tennessee, which have since removed their unlawful components and will fully shut down soon.
