Woman in court for using SUV to run ex-boyfriend over
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis woman accused of using her SUV to run over her boyfriend appeared in court Monday morning. Tanieka Ray is charged with attempted first-degree murder. Judge Greg Gilbert, the judge Ray appeared before, told her that if she is found guilty, she could spend the next 15 to 60 years in jail. The victim's neighbor, Carlos Brantley, witnessed the incident and stated that Ray had been estranged from her ex and was upset about being out of the house. It is alleged that Ray threatened to run him over again and then followed through on her threats. The injuries to the victim include both of his hips, spine, and a ruptured main artery in the left leg.
