Memphis Weather: Sunny, Warm Stretch With Elevated Fire Danger
Sunny skies and highs near 79 are on the way for Memphis. Just be careful with outdoor flames as dry conditions keep fire danger elevated through Friday. The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a warning for elevated fire danger due to dry conditions and low afternoon humidity. Light NNE winds are expected to increase to 5–7 knots on Thursday, while afternoon humidity drops below 30%. This combination of dry air and parched fuels is causing residents to take extra care with outdoor burning, cigarettes and matches. The weather service has advised residents to follow local burn bans and properly dispose of cigarettes and match properly. No rain is expected for the rest of the week. The weekend will be marked by significant high cloud cover, with temperatures expected to remain in the mid-70s and low overnight lows.
