What to expect in Memphis basketball’s exhibition game at No. 12 Arkansas
The Tigers conclude preseason action against former coach John Calipari’s Razorbacks on Wednesday. (Image Credit: Memphis Athletics) Memphis basketball won 75-58 over Mississippi State in an exhibition game, with the Tigers shooting 51% from the field, drilling nine of their 20 3-point attempts and forcing 15 turnovers. Tigers point guard Jayden Reid led the team with 26 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals on 11-of-15 shooting. Despite this, Reid believes there is still room for improvement in the team's performance ahead of their game against No. 12 Arkansas. The Tigers’ trip to Fayetteville marks their second exhibition match with former coach John Calipari, who led the Razorbacks to a dominant win at Memphis in last year’s Hoops for St. Jude Tip Off Classic. Tylik Weeks, a top-40 scorer in the country last season at Southern Miss, was largely expected to be Memphis’ lead scorer this year but still contributed significantly to the team’ performance, despite scoring just 5 points on 1-of9 shooting.
