A cold front is moving through the Mid-South bringing rain and thunderstorms and prompting the National Weather Service to issue a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH until 10 PM for much of the area including Memphis and Shelby County. A few strong to severe storms will be possible as the front works its way south tonight. Periods of heavy rain, gusty wind, frequent thunder, lightning, and small hail are the main threats with storms this evening. MEMPHIS, Tenn. TONIGHT: Scattered rain and thunderstorms possibly strong to severe along with a Northeast wind at 5 to 10 MPH and overnight lows in the low to mid 60s.

MONDAY: Mostly Sunny with a North wind at 10 MPH and afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly Clear with a light Northeast wind and overnight lows near 60.

THE REST OF THE WEEK: Tuesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the lower 80s and lows near 60. Wednesday will be partly cloudy with high temperatures in the mid 80s and overnight lows in the mid 60s. Thursday will be mostly sunny with high temperatures near 90 and lows in the lower 70s. Friday will be mostly sunny with afternoon highs in the mid 90s and overnight lows in the mid 70s.
