Grizzlies carry rare 3-0 start into rematch with Jazz
The Memphis Grizzlies are 3-0 and off to their best start since the 2017-18 season behind an unexpected scoring surge from a veteran point guard and solid contributions from a precocious rookie forward entering their game Monday against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City. The Memphis Grizzlies are 3-0 in their first game of the season, marking their best start since the 2017-18 season. The Grizzlies defeated the Sacramento Kings 123-112, marking only the third time in franchise history that they have started 3-1. Point guard Ty Jerome, who entered the game leading the NBA in scoring with 36.5 points per game, led the Grizzlies with 31 points and went 14-of-14 from the free-throw line against Sacramento. Rookie forward Cameron Boozer also contributed significantly, scoring 16 points and 11 boards against Sacramento after scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds in a win at Golden State. Despite a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, Utah's coach Will Hardy saw encouraging signs in the team's performance against Los Angeles.
